Is Snail Mail Making a Comeback?

If you follow my art on social media, you probably know about my snail mail club. I started my mail club in July 2025 as a way of connecting with other people who love art. But over time, my reasons for having a snail mail club have grown.

I can remember as a kid the excitement of receiving a letter or postcard in the mail. Growing up in the 90s before social media was a gift I wouldn't appreciate until I was an adult. Sending mail was a way of connecting with a friend who lives far away. It felt special.

We live in such a fast-paced, loud, digital world. Instant messages, constant scrolling, never-ending notifications. I don't think that's changing anytime soon. But I do think that more and more, people are craving a pause from all of the noise. And I think snail mail is one small thing that gives people the opportunity to pause.

Postcards were the first product I made when I started selling my art at markets and festivals. I wanted to offer something at a low price point so that if someone couldn't spend $20 or more on a print from me, they could still take something small home that they enjoyed. I didn't expect how much people would love them!

I've seen hundreds of people in my booth notice my postcards and then smile and say that they love the nostalgic look of them or that they had forgotten all about postcards but now they're excited to send one to a friend.

Physical mail feels different. It's intentional and it gives the receiver a quiet moment to really notice and appreciate it. All of that is to say that yes, I do think snail mail is making a comeback!

Our digital world can often feel so overwhelming. My goal for my snail mail club is to give all of its members a chance to pause for a moment and appreciate art and the simple joys around them.
