What Is a Snail Mail Club? (And Why People Love Them)
Share
I'm now into my second year of owning a snail mail club! I started it as a way to connect with people over something I love, creating art, in a tangible way.
In our digital and fast-paced world, I think there are a lot of people who are coming to appreciate simple joys more and more. Sending snail mail is increasing in popularity and it's easy to understand why.
If you've just discovered snail mail clubs and you're wondering, What even is a snail mail club?, I'll explain all about mine below!
What is a snail mail club?
A snail mail club is a service, usually subscription-based, that sends physical mail to its members containing items of the artist's/mail club owner's choosing. In my case, postcards or prints made from my art and a letter about the artwork. I also send out a digital coloring page each month featuring that month's artwork.
What do you receive in a snail mail club?
In my snail mail club, there are three tiers to choose from. They range in price from $6-$8 per month. To keep membership cost affordable, free untracked shipping is included. Here's the options:
Petals & Postcards
My most popular tier! It includes:
- One unique (no repeats) postcard delivered to your mailbox every month
- A letter about the artwork
- A digital coloring page made by me featuring each month's artwork so you can create along with me!
Twice the Petals & Postcards
The same art, just double the postcards! Keep one and mail one, or keep one and gift one to a friend.
- Two unique (no repeats) postcards delivered to your mailbox every month
- A letter about the artwork
- A digital coloring page made by me featuring each month's artwork so you can create along with me!
Print Club
If prints are more your thing, I have those too.
- One unique (no repeats) signed print delivered to your mailbox every month
- A letter about the artwork
- A digital coloring page made by me featuring each month's artwork so you can create along with me!

Why are snail mail clubs becoming popular again?
We live in such a fast-paced, loud, digital world. Instant messages, constant scrolling, never-ending notifications. I don't think that's changing anytime soon. But I do think that more and more, people are craving a pause from all of the noise. And I think snail mail is one small thing that gives people the opportunity to pause.
I've seen hundreds of people in my booth at art markets notice my postcards and then smile and say that they love the nostalgic look of them or that they had forgotten all about postcards but now they're excited to send one to a friend.
Physical mail feels special and different and I think more and more people are beginning to notice and appreciate that again.
Why I created my snail mail club
I've been selling my art for a few years now. I started out doing art festivals and markets before I had my website or snail mail club. What I noticed was that so many people gravitated towards my postcards and small prints.
I think because of their low price point, they allow people who appreciate my art but aren't ready to make a larger purchase to still take something home that they love.
Another reason I started my snail mail club is because I genuinely love snail mail! Thinking back through my childhood, I always loved receiving pen pal letters and birthday cards in the mail. Getting something in the mail specifically sent to you (that isn't another bill), feels special. It offers a moment of personal, tangible connection between you and the sender and I think that's really sweet.

FAQ
How often does the snail mail club ship?
All mail is sent out at the same time at the end of the month. This way, everyone who wants to sign up to receive that month's artwork has the chance to do so until the last day of the month.
Is the snail mail club a subscription?
Yes, all options (Petals & Postcards, Twice the Petals & Postcards, and Print Club) are subscription-based. When you sign up, you will be charged monthly.
Can I cancel my snail mail club membership anytime?
Yes! You can absolutely cancel anytime. If you have already been charged for the month in which you cancel, your snail mail will still be sent at the end of the month. For example, if you sign up on January 1st and cancel on January 24th, you will receive January's art at the end of the month.
