About the art

Figs are so nostalgic to me. You might notice them pop up quite a few times in my artwork. Where I grew up in South Georgia, some fig trees grow to be so tall and wide that you can easily stand under them. 

I remember as a kid standing under a giant fig tree in my grandmother's backyard and gazing up to see hundreds of purple and green figs, choosing the perfect one, and enjoying it in the warmth of the summer sun. In my art, they represent the simple joys of being a child during the summertime.
