About the art

Lucky Stars was inspired by summer days in the backyard with my daughter. We usually find ourselves crouched down, looking for four-leaf clover or dandelions to make wishes. The anticipation of finding one is often the most fun part.

These memories made me think of all of these little symbols of luck that we encounter or search for in our everyday lives. A four-leaf clover, dragonflies, ladybugs, a heads-up penny. To me, it’s less about hoping for good luck in the future and more about seeing the luck I have now. Finding a four-leaf clover probably won’t bring me good luck. Instead, in that moment, I was already lucky because I found it.
